Plain-language template. This document describes how mmmry actually works, in good faith and in everyday English. It is template text that has not been reviewed by an attorney. Have qualified counsel review and adapt it for your jurisdiction and entity before relying on it in production.

mmmry lets people save things they find on the web into a private library for their own recall — content saved to mmmry is not published or made public by us. Even so, we respect intellectual-property rights and respond to valid notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Reporting infringement

If you believe content stored on mmmry infringes your copyright and is accessible in a way you can identify, send a written notice to our designated agent at [email protected] (or the mailing address below) including:
  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail (such as a URL or share link) for us to locate it.
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Note: to claim DMCA safe-harbor protection, the operator should register this designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office.

What we do

On receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material from the relevant account and notify the affected user. Because libraries are private, this typically means acting within the account that saved the material.

Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected] with your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact information, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate U.S. federal court. We may restore the material as the DMCA permits.

Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances, suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
